Practice Foundation. Sylvain Roy established SRA in 1999 after gaining early entrepreneurial experience co-founding a venture-backed robotics software company where he served as COO, successfully raising capital as early as 1996. This dual track of legal practice and technology ventures has defined his approach for over 25 years.

Core Expertise. His practice encompasses business and technology law with particular depth in intellectual property valuation, complex regulatory frameworks, and cross-border transactions. He has completed over 200 IP valuation projects, including multinational patent portfolio assessments for transfer pricing compliance.

International Experience. Sylvain founded Switzerland’s first patent brokerage firm, serving clients including ABB, Legrand, and Schneider Electric. His advisory roles with CERN and EPFL demonstrate his ability to transform academic innovation into commercial value. He maintains strong European connections through affiliated offices in Switzerland.

Thought Leadership. Co-author of Business Secrets Management (Springer, 2025), Sylvain brings academic rigor to practical application. He lectures on IP Valuation at CEIPI (Université de Strasbourg) and speaks internationally on technology commercialization.

Advisory & Investment. He serves as advisor and seed investor in ventures across AI, SaaS, energy, and life sciences. His operational experience brings practical perspective to strategic counsel.
