Confidentiality and Fiduciary Obligations

SRA is bound by strict confidentiality and fiduciary obligations under the Code of Professional Conduct of Lawyers (chapter B-1, r.3.1) of the Act respecting the Barreau du Quebec (chapter B-1, s. 4). Such obligations apply to information received in confidence with respect to clients and clients’ projects.  A client-attorney relationship with SRA starts only when confirmed by a mutually executed hiring letter.
